The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care is facilitating access to online education programs for insertion and management of chest drains in adults. Access to the programs will be free of charge to individual doctors, nurses, medical and nursing students until 31 December 2010.
These programs provide quality education for medical and nursing staff with peer group interaction opportunities. Guidelines are available to conduct simulation training using a mannequin. The program has been endorsed by the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand.
